1 Day Lake Naivasha

7:00 AM: Pick-up from Nairobi

Depart from your hotel or residence in Nairobi early in the morning. Enjoy a scenic 1.5-2 hour drive through the Great Rift Valley, with optional stops at viewpoints to take in the stunning landscape and capture photos of the escarpment.

9:30 AM: Arrival at Lake Naivasha

Arrive at Lake Naivasha, a serene freshwater lake surrounded by acacia trees and a variety of birdlife. Lake Naivasha is one of Kenya’s most beautiful lakes, located in the heart of the Rift Valley.

10:00 AM: Boat Ride on Lake Naivasha

Embark on a boat ride to explore the lake’s rich ecosystem. As you cruise along, you will see hippos wallowing in the water and a variety of bird species, including fish eagles, cormorants, herons, pelicans, and kingfishers. Your boat guide will offer insights into the wildlife around the lake.

11:30 AM: Visit Crescent Island Game Sanctuary

After the boat ride, take a short trip to Crescent Island, one of the few places in Kenya where you can enjoy a walking safari. The sanctuary is home to a variety of animals, including giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and impalas. As there are no predators, walking among the animals provides a unique, close-up wildlife experience.

Enjoy a guided nature walk on the island, where you can take in the beautiful scenery and spot animals grazing freely in the open plains.

1:30 PM: Lunch by the Lake

Head to a lakeside restaurant or lodge for lunch (not included in the package, but arrangements can be made). You can enjoy a delicious meal while taking in the stunning views of the lake.

Alternatively, you may have a packed picnic lunch on the shores of the lake, providing a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere to enjoy the beauty of Naivasha.

3:00 PM: Optional Visit to Hell’s Gate National Park (if time allows)

If time permits, you can opt to visit the nearby Hell’s Gate National Park (additional cost). This park offers a unique opportunity to walk, cycle, or hike among wildlife such as zebras, buffaloes, and antelopes while exploring the dramatic cliffs, gorges, and geothermal hot springs.

If you prefer a more leisurely afternoon, you can skip Hell’s Gate and enjoy more time relaxing around Lake Naivasha.

4:00 PM: Depart for Nairobi

Begin the journey back to Nairobi, taking in more views of the Great Rift Valley as the sun sets behind the escarpment.

6:00 PM: Arrival in Nairobi

Arrive back in Nairobi in the early evening, where you will be dropped off at your hotel or residence.
